Pizza from Maine, in North Carolina.

You know how you can’t drink the water in other states? Maybe not.

Well, you know how I tell myself that I can’t drink the water in other states, taking it as far as brushing my teeth with bottled water?

I make pizza dough with Poland Spring when I’m not on Long Island.

That makes this pizza part Maine.

I used this delicious crust, pre baking with a light coating of olive oil on top and a dusting of breadcrumbs underneath (for the non-stickyness) for ten minutes at 450 before adding toppings, making for a crispy and delicious crust.

This is serious vacation stuff guys.

My own variation of this saucy sauce.

Some mozzarella-ness.

And fresh basil. I put it on the pizza before I spread the sauce around, so it doesn’t get all dry if a little bit is sticking out from under the cheese. And also so the 10 year olds I’m feeding don’t see it, therefore they won’t go pick it off of their pizza, missing the best part.

You really should go make this. Don’t be afraid of yeasty bread like I was.

I’m going to the beach now, bye.
